Topic: Telephone etiquette
Lesson: Orders and confirmations
This week we are looking at useful formulaic language that can be used when placing or taking orders on the telephone.
Part 1 – Orders and purchases
When calling and buying something, there are different ways to use the words ‘order’ and ‘purchase’.
Part 2 – Confirming information
Confirmation is important. It can reassure the customer that their order has been placed. It can also leave the customer with a good impression of the company.
Part 3 – Listening activity
The teacher is going to play a telephone conversation between a sales representative and a customer. Answer the questions, and list at least three phrases used in the dialogue that are from Parts 1 & 2 of the lesson.
