Topic: Meetings
Lesson: Facilitating
This week we are going to be focusing on facilitating a meeting. The definition of “facilitate” is “to make easy” or “ease a process” and that is what this week’s lesson is going to help you do: make controlling and guiding a meeting easier.
Part 1 – What would you say?
For situations like meetings, it’s a good idea to learn some formulaic phrases that are commonly used. In some cases, these formulaic phrases are rarely changed. There is a list contains situations and an example phrase in Japanese. You need to write some English phrases for the same situations. You don’t need to translate the phrases directly, just try to think of phrases that could be used or have a similar meaning.
Part 2 – Writing exercise
Using the phrases that you looked at today, write a meeting about anything you like. If you took Easy Business week 3, you can include phrases from that lesson too. However, they are not essential for this activity. If you didn’t take the Week 3 lesson, feel free to use your own phrases or skip them.
