Topic: Presentations
Lesson: Language and introduction
This week we are going to learn common language used in presentations. The phrases used when you’re starting a presentation, transitioning between topics, and ending a presentation are very formulaic, and it’s important to know them and have many alternatives at your disposal.
Part 1 - Introduction
An important thing to remember when giving a presentation in English is not to make it sound like a lecture. Giving a presentation is very much a communicative skill. The speaker must appear to be talking to the audience and not to the paper in his or her hand. First, we are going to talk about the opening lines of the presentation to set the tone for the rest of the presentation.
Part 2: Product and positive words
For an effective presentation you need effective word choices. We are going to look at positive words you can use to make your presentation more professional, more natural, and to project a stronger message when you need to.
