This week is about appropriate behavior on your first day at a new job or in a new department. We will learn about things you should do to make a good impression and things to avoid doing.
Part 1: First day on the job
Watch the video and list some of the most important things you should do on your first day at a new job.
Part 2: What to do and what not to do
After watching the video, how do you feel about the actions in the listed situations? Do you think the actions are smart or ill-advised? Write your thoughts. Write if you think it’s a good idea. If not, explain why you think so and what you would do differently.
Part 3: Roleplay
The teacher will give you a role to play. One person will be an employee on their first day at a new job. The other students will be coworkers. Use the descriptions as a guide.
