Do you know what are “synonyms”? It means “words with the same meaning”. 
「Synonym」という言葉を知っていますか？「同じ意味を持っている言葉」（同義語）という意味です。

A lot of these words have almost no difference between them, but people still use both of them very often. This is true for every language – also, Japanese!
多くの同義語は、意味にほぼ違いがないにもかかわらず、どちらもよく使われることがあります。これはどんな言語にもありますね、もちろん日本語にも！

Some other synonyms have very similar meanings, but there’s still a difference in nuance. This week, we focus on these. We will learn some pairs of synonyms and really understanding the difference.
いくつかの同義語は意味がとても似ているのですが、ニュアンスが違うものもあります。今週はそういった同義語がテーマです。目標はいくつかの同義語のペアを習って、違いをよく理解することです。
