Topic: Compliments and criticism
Lesson:Giving and accepting constructive criticism
In English, “constructive criticism” is advice or suggestions that will help someone improve. The word “constructive” is used because it is positive and means “to build” something.
Part 1: Offering constructive criticism
There are comments given by co-workers after a presentation about a new smartphone. Write a “C” for comments that offer constructive criticism and an “X” for ones that don’t.
Part 2: Accepting criticism
How would you respond if someone gave you the criticism?
Part 3: Staff meetings
A manager at a car company is meeting with some staff to discuss decisions they are making. The staff member will explain their decisions and the manager will offer constructive criticism. Focus on giving useful advice, but also be polite and friendly.
