Hey, friends,
This is… shockingly… my first EB blog post during my time here since 2022. I have been very bad at remembering to write one, but better late than never! [sweats]
Anyway, what better topic to write about than my own beloved dog, Joey. He’s a very silly, 8-year-old shih tzu. In many ways, he feels like a baby brother who doesn’t speak.

Truthfully, I didn’t want to meet Joey when my family first got him. I was away from home in college and my childhood dog had just passed away. But once I saw Joey’s little face, it was love at first sight. We became best buddies. I helped him learn to enjoy going on walks, gave him a lot of neat experiences looking at the weird bugs in Texas, and maybe treated him a little too much like a small human child.
For some reason, I feel our personalities and mannerisms are quite similar. We’re both a bit stubborn and prone to following rigid routines, not very motivated by food, not a fan of having to go to bed at night, and we both cry about small, unimportant things.
But if one thing is truly missing in my life here in Japan, it’s my baby boy, Joey.

Thank you for reading! (・∀・)
Rest assured;
I will talk about Joey during one of the classes you take with me 🙂
